I believe he is wrong. I see no reason to dismiss Lews Therin's surprise, or the other times we were told Aes Sedai could not save tainted male channelers.

Lews Therin was never lucid (except for a few brief moments before his death) after saidin was tainted. Ishamael was, and he said a mad Lews Therin could get a few moments of lucidity if one of his Sisters was around.


I don't see how this can be viewed as being Healed of madness. You think the suddenly sane channeler wouldn't be able to stop himself from channeling for even a few minutes? And that those few minutes would return the channeler to insanity? What Ishamael is saying is that even the best Aes Sedai could do no more then hold the madness at bay for a few minutes.
The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
