Infact I have long been annoyed that healing someone who has been stilled/gentled was supposedly something that was unknown in the AoL, but so easily discovered by two separate totally inexperienced healers who did not even work together. The AoL'ers should have EASILY been able to discover that and heal someone who had been severed from the source.
Well, how many people were Stilled/Gentled during the almost utopian Age of Legends? The current Age is more barbaric and even now it is rare, it might've been almost unheard of in the previous Age. That way, there would've been no cases to study. There probably were burned out people but that may not even be possible to Heal. Thus the AoLers could have reasoned out that probably you can't Heal Stilling either, if you can't heal burned out people. Then no one would have even bothered to try.
Perhaps the appearance of two phenomenal Healers is something caused by the Wheel. RJ has told us that highly skilled Healers are less common than people who are very skilled in some of the other Talents.
