I agree that Mat's letter was inane, though...and his interactions with Elayne in general seemed a bit out of character. I think that BS doesn't sit in Mat's head as nicely as RJ did, although there's no real excuse for how the letter was written. I'd be interested to know whether BS or RJ was responsible for that. On the plus side, I think BS sits into Perrin's character very nicely, so I really like that bit Perrin's mah favorite <3
