I think Mat was trying really hard on that occassion and I assume his first letter to Elayne was much better because he was also trying hard there. but the second letter was not done carefully or with little interest in how it would be perceived


Like I said, he one shot it with the queen in the room with him. On the one in ToM he had to cross a bunch of crap out. You either know how to spell or you don't.


You've obviously never been with a child learning to spell who spelled a word correctly 5 minutes ago and who now can't seem to do so at all even when you point out to them that they just spelled it.
