Especially since Egwene herself didn't really think it necessary for herself to take the tests RugbyPlayingAshaman Send a noteboard - 07/12/2010 03:43:18 PM
Of the two, I think Egwene had more of a need to prove herself to the Aes Sedai than Nynaeve has - she wants to lead them, and I didn't like the hypocrisy involved in that scene. Strangely, her performance during the fight against Mesaana showed that she might have failed to keep Aes Sedai composure just as Nynaeve did.

The fact that the Sisters were still going to refuse Nynaeve the shawl really drove home how misplaced the priorities of this organization are, and I still don't really see the value in keeping the White Tower whole besides tradition and having a structure already in place to consolidate power.

Earlier in the series, I really hoped that Egwene and Co. would forge the Kin, Wise Ones, Windfinders, the Rebels and the new novices into a coalition far stronger than the Aes Sedai of the White Tower. Oh well!
