She's one of a handful of true Servants of All, along with Moiraine, Verin and (grudgingly) Cadsuane. The rest, for the most part, are a complete farce.
The only thing that puts a burr in my saddle with Nynaeve in TOM was she made no mention and seemingly cared less about swearing on that criminal binder and willingly giving up half her life! Also when Nynaeve and Elayne meet Egwene in TAR and Elayne's only 'concern' about swearing on the binder is how it will effect her kids, really? So I guess knowing that it cuts your life in half isn't a concern? Give me a break.
Knowing how Aes Sedai are and how concerned they are of themselves and their selves only, I'm flabbergasted that they all seem to think being bound to an Oath and giving up half your life means nothing to them. Indeed, they think it's a good thing, ha!
And to top it off, in the future for Aes Sedai if they continue to be as an organization post LB without getting some sense and abandoning the criminal binder in it's current use, then the story falls flat on it's face and will leave me seriously disenchanted with the whole story.
Ask yourself this: Do you really believe that people in the future will even go near the WT when they have the option of joining other channeling organization that don't require you to give up half your life? I for one, as soon as I learned this 'interesting' fact, any thoughts on joining/becoming Aes Sedai fly right out of my mind, no matter what they do/accomplish (nothing of note as an organiztion for the past oh....3500 years).
Nynaeve and Elayne told Egwene in TPOD when they had one of their TAR meetings what they thought of that criminal binder and Egwene brow beat them of course for showing reason and yet they caved in to her? I'm sorry, friend or not, Amyrlin or not, Aes Sedai or not...giving up half my life to join Aes Sedai guild just isn't happening no matter what else they may accomplish.
Oh and lets not forget the fact that Aes Sedai will live half as long as all other channelers yet they're going to rein supreme, or supposed to rein supreme in Randland? Not!
I guess it's kinda obvious how I feel about Aes Sedai and their vaunted 'Oath Rod'.

They believe Oaths necessary, thus an Aes Sedai refusing sets herself apart from and above the rest.
