it just grew more overt and he learned how to harness it much later. It's like saying Perrin wasn't a Wolf Brother at that time simply because he had yet to meet a Wolf.

I've always believed Mat's luck started after the trip to Rhuidean along with the Ashandarei and all the other "gifts". Is there any reference to it before that episode? Do we have any reason to suspect so?
