Then of course, there's the caveat that the Pattern may have "inspired" her for the purposes of The Last Battle. Really, when in doubt, that can explain a lot of the "ease" the characters have :P That's the joy of fantasy! Illogical easiness :P


Actually, that's one of the bad things of fantasy: forfeiting logic, internal coherence, and deserved explanations.
