In fact I'd be surprised if we are told the specifics. But it could be as simple as they killed her to see if transmigration would restor her full strength. If they believed what the 'Finns did to her was purely physical they may have killed her so they could have a full power Lanfear back and under control.

Or the 'Finns could have killed her for unknown reasons ... It seems clear from the RJ and Sanderson quotes as well as the fact that Cyndane remains weaker that had the 'Finns fully drained her she would be unable to Channel at all ... Even after a transmigration.

IMO it seems less likely the 'Finns would have killed her without a specific reason to do so. They gain nothing from her death.
