Here's the actual text from the book:

"My Power, Thom," she explained. "I could hear them barking and hissing to one another as they fed on me, both Aelfinn and Eelfinn in turn. They have not often had an Aes Sedai to themselves, it seems. While draining my ability to channel, they were fed twofold--my sorrow at what I was losing and the Power itself. My capacity has been greatly reduced.
"They claimed to have killed Lanfear by draining her too quickly, though I think they may have been trying to make me afraid. A man was there once, when they woke me. He said I was not the one he wanted." She hesitated, then shivered. "Sometimes I wished they would drain me quickly and end my life."

"They gave you your three demands?" Mat asked, frowning.
"I passed through the ter'angreal," she said. "The ancient treaty held for both of us, though with the doorway destroyed, there was no simple return."


So we see that Moraine did see that Lanfear was alive after falling through the doorway, and that the treaty held for her too. Then while she was being fed on, she was made tastier by the frightful news that Lanfear had died this way. She didn't believe it, and Moridin's presence is pretty suggestive that it wasn't true.

The question then, is how did she die? Did the Finns agree to let her go on the condition that she was dead? Do the Finns have to keep to bargains with the Shadow? I don't see how killing her would accomplish anything for the Finns, however. They would want Moridin to give up something. Even if he was trying to trick the Finns into thinking he wanted Lanfear alive, he wouldn't risk killing her there where there was the chance she might not be transmigrated, and he knew perfectly well that he could kill her whenever he wanted. I bet he brought along a captive channeler to exchange. Then I think events proceeded like you suggest, with the utter stripping, humiliation, and enslavement of the Shadow's most vain and self-interested servant.
