Ya pretty sure you could consider Jaim Farstrider a main character, he's with us for a number of books and we've heard about him and his travels throughout the entire series. Didn't know he was a Darkfriend. Or maybe he was Sammael reborn with a change of heart perhaps?


If you're going to count anyone who's been in a few of the books as a main character then there's probably over 200 "main" characters. The main characters are the group that leaves Emond's field and their love interests.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
