True, but it's never too late to ask people such questions

I asked in part because for the past two weeks, I've been re-reading the Malazan books (both Erikson and Esslemont's works) and the thematic elements in the 15 novels and four novellas that I've read have been foremost on my mind. I'm even considering writing an essay on this part of some epic/heroic fantasies, probably in November after I finish not just the Malazan re-read this week, but also a re-read/commentary of Andrzej Sapkowski's Geralt and Hussite series (or rather, the only two of the latter's three that's been published in Spanish translation).
Your comments, which do jibe with many of my thoughts (although we may disagree on the efficacy of Jordan's execution of those themes), certainly do give me things to consider discussing when I do get around to writing that essay. Thanks

So when the book/series ends, what will it have all meant?

I'm not really a huge fiction reader to begin with

I've noticed that quite a few here/wotmania have not been big fiction (fantasy) readers

It is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
