how the sort of minor awfulness in Egwene that I picked up on the first time I read the first few chapters of The Eye of the World portended massive scale awfulness later in the series. Little did I know that a particularly snotty and arrogant teenage girl would one day ravage the world like a self centered hurricane of of awfulness.
