She mentions more friends in her peer group than Nynaeve ever does. In fact I don't recall Nynaeve ever mentioning a friend in the TR who wasnt part of the women's circle. Sort of difficult for people in positions of great power to have a wide circle of personal friends that are not also in their power circle.

Tons of examples in the books:

Siuan is dumped by Lelaine when the power divide becomes too wide to be comfortable, Medani and Elaida's relationship ends when Elaida moves up to Accepted, Leane/Moiraine/Siuan all broke off their friendships with their Accepted friends when they were Raised. Cadsuane doesn't seem to have any friends, only Merise seems even close and she is as close to an equal as Cadsuane is going to find. Elayne's friends are limited to her closest circle of advisers, almost all AS and powerful nobles, I don't recall her ever mentioning a friend in the WT prior to Egwene.

None of this means these women (Egwene included) have no respect, or are not respected by others. They are simply limited by their positions.
