True, but that only makes slowings imprecise nature harder to gauge Joel Send a noteboard - 10/07/2015 02:51:45 AM

View original postRJ has said that Aiel Wise ones don't live as long, and don't look as young as they should, because living in the Waste is rough. Mora, the oldest known Wise One, only live to a bit more than 300.

We have her appearance and vigor caused by her age (unknown) and augmented by her slowing (unknown) but reduced by her hardships (unknown.) Hence Cadsuanes knowledgeably estimates Sorileas age based on appearance AND strength to be at least TWICE its unknown value. We know her age is extreme, her strength minimal and her appearance and vigor comparable to wizened Bair; those are far from the best ways to estimate just HOW extreme her age is, much less extrapolate her strength from something in which it is only one of many factors. If memory serves, the Wastes harshness prevented Mora dying a natural death; we have no idea how long she might have lived otherwise. Other statements in the book DO strongly suggest Sorilea was nowhere near surpassing her though.
