It could have been Moghedien as well. Moggy is the only other Forsaken who uses Compulsion as much as Graendal. It would be fitting if the Spider died in anonymity, the very thing she works hard to maintain.
I'm not discounting the possibility of Graendal's death, but the lack of Graendal's POV makes it harder to believe she is really gone.

Moghedien herself says that she's not too Talented with Compulsion. Both victims in those scenes had extremely complex nets on them, fine hooks in many areas of their brains, sort of consistent with Rand's statement that Graendal was pretty much at the upper limit of ability with the weave. Graendal herself said she wouldn't teach a 3rd Age channeler Compulsion. I guess it could have been another Forsaken, but if a messenger comes out of Graendal's lair bound with Compulsion, I think it's fair to assume it was Graendal.
Besides, DomA mentioned in another post that she would never see this coming. It's a tactic employed by someone like Moridin or Demandred, not Rand al'Thor. I think he fooled her because she couldn't comprehend him doing something so evil.
