What things irritated you in the book? I mean this strictly from a plot or character PoV, not inaccuracies or problems you had with Brandon's writing. Here are mine..
1. The Aes Sedai calling Nynaeve 'child'. It's so ridiculous that a woman who has accomplished so much is still being looked at as an Accepted.
2. Gawyn still not believing anyone that Rand didn't hurt his mother. Gareth was probably the fourth person to try and pursuade him.
3. The absence of Graendal on screen. In some ways this was her book, but she was absent.
4. Having once again heard no news on what Demandred is doing.
5. Bubbles of evil. They get in the way of everything. Go away.
That is all.
we just see a little more of his pig-headedness in this one than before.
the thing that annoyed me the most about this book i've already posted about (the "anyway" post in case you missed it), but as far as characters go, cadsuane came out as more self-righteous and annoying than in previous books imho.
also, only cursory involvement with mat and perrin, and mat's story arc being uncompelling compared to his previous arc in KoD.
and i think most of all, the way the plot was handled so bluntly as if most of the major points were being smashed into your face with a sledgehammer and giving a little too much predictability. when semihrage was freed, did anyone *not* see that the serving woman was going to be semihrage in disguise?

There were wards on the door to get in (which Gateways kinda invalidate).

It's at least consistent Forsaken idiocy, considering what we saw before...

I think that's only for the Amyrlin. IIRC, no one else ever calls initiates daughters.
