it could be the set up for nynaeve coming up with some brilliant idea at the end of brainstorming. nynaeve's comment might not have been there to illustrate stupidity or anything negative, but rather show that a thought process had been awakened in her (i never thought to use gateways this way is very similar to i never thought to use the channeler-healing weaves this way or something else)....
