I enjoyed Mistborn a lot. However, it seems unlikely that Jordan would have independently come up with the same idea. Jordan's statements about the Creator have always been a bit more straightforward - "My God is an Old Testament God" and "it's a Manichaean world" (which is of course an incorrect statement but he means a dualistic system where Good and Evil are perfectly balanced).
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
