Turn off the Rod balefried Send a noteboard - 02/12/2009 09:52:39 PM
Mesaana, being a teacher from the AoL, may have quite a bit of familiarity with the Rod. She may have turned it off with a flow of Spirit, or not put the flow in the correct place, instead of activating it when she took the Oaths in front of everyone. A power-woven disguise would do for the ageless look.

There has not ever been a visual discription of the Oaths settling upon someone. It is always described as a tightening of the skin, something settling down on her. I think Egwene and Co would be staring at the face of the person swearing, not where the flows went. A flow of Spirit somewhere on top of the ROd is enough. Or, maybe inverted other flows to do the same.

I'm not convinced. I don't believe she'd want to subject herself to being sworn. - 01/12/2009 09:54:40 PM 843 Views
Not just that, but in the AoL, the Oath Rod was used to "bind criminals". *NM* - 02/12/2009 05:41:35 AM 311 Views

To be honest, though, any Sister can defeat the Three Oaths. - 01/12/2009 10:37:29 PM 687 Views

Well, that's just one oath. The other two are not as easy to circumvent. - 02/12/2009 01:19:53 AM 782 Views
But given free will, they can interpret "danger" to mean "clear and present" or "potential danger" - 02/12/2009 04:54:26 PM 614 Views
Last defense of life cannot mean potential danger. *NM* - 02/12/2009 05:51:27 PM 254 Views
Yes it can. It all depends on interpretation. - 03/12/2009 12:22:47 AM 603 Views

It only has to be maintained long enough to take the Oaths. *NM* - 02/12/2009 04:51:34 AM 268 Views
