a desire to make sure Semirhage doesn't reveal that Mesaana is in the White Tower. I think Mesaana could care little about Semirhage, but everything she worked for could be ruined if Semirhage revealed who Mesaana was parading around as in the White Tower.

I think Mesaana was more worried about herself than she was worried about Semirhage.
