If Egwene could make a gateway into the Tower storeroom from inside the Tower, then she could have made a gateway into the storeroom from anywhere on earth.
So why didn't she Travel there before, steal all the angreal and sa'angreal in a couple of minutes and escape back to Salidar with all of the loot?
And another thing, I know it's been touched on before, but I don't know what the answer was: Why the heck didn't Mesaana or any of the other Forsaken simply Travel to the storeroom to take what they want at leisure?
