I still think quite a few opportunities were missed in this series with that whole idea that "One woman may come with the invisible support and strength of any female channeler in the vicinity, while men must always be present to show their power."

Also, many opportunities were lost by the way that Elayne, Egwene and Nynaeve were effectively not near him for most of the books and by their overall ulterior motives. Egwene told Elayne not to reveal that they had studied the Old Tongue in the Tower and that Elayne might be able to decipher it - I understand why, but there is a lot of time wasted on describing the room, and the characters don't ever seem to actually talk and share viewpoints. Miscommunication is one thing but being in a room with friends and having the "friends" display more solidarity with some random women from some random country is another.
