Ah but Elayne also knew they knew Rand wouldn't allow it

That advantage was never lost. They could have shot a deadly weave at the women any time, and Elayne wouldn't have known. She didn't even know if they were holding the power. Elayne, however, did a foolish thing by not hiding her ability and that of the others. That way, they'd have held the same advantage.
I wonder if Elayne is even aware that masking hides the tingle from men. IIRC only those with Rand know that part of the trick, and in TGS Nynaeve tells us that she's not been in contact with the others.
With Flinn, I think it goes to show that he is quite strong and skilled.
The Verin circle is one of the most important reasons why I think the Aes Sedai are not nearly as weak compared to the Forsaken as some others suggest.

I'd also say Flinn had the advantage with a mixed circle, we know flows are more effective when combined than alone ... and I agree in principle with the Verin statement, but the skill level of Graendal should have made more of a difference... but since Verin wasn't held by the oaths for the last 70 years, perhaps she learned a few things about fighting with the OP. She's clearly vastly more skilled than Alivia who despite he huge strength advantage couldn't kill Cyndane!
Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!
Is Rand logical when he estimates female danger?

I always like to think that Egwene, Elayne and Aviendha Linked can match Rand.
