Think of the DF we know.
The Seanchan DF act like seanchan. They have many of the same values and mentalities.
Aiel DF (the one that we know) acted very much like an Aiel.
The Black Ajah act like AS. They hate wilders, have Ajah tendencies, believe in WT (that would be run by the Black, but it would still be the WT to them).
So why wouldn't Sorelia act like an Aiel and be offended by the Blakcsmith comment? Maybe she is the highest a DF can get except for the Chosen. Aiel DF might not even be too impressed by the Chosen, Aiel being what they are.
