2. Evil but necessary. You do what you need to, to survive. You can always say sorry later.


This isn't the kind of thing he can fix by just saying sorry; he's been told how hard it is to break ties to the DO since the beginning. His actions were almost akin to a deal with the devil in the classical sense. However, he also gets some credit that it wasn't (just) his life he was protecting.
