The last few books kinda sucked and while I kept reading hoping he would return to form (and to get some closure) things just went from bad to horrific.

Quite frankly anything that improved on the recent WoT books was going to be tolerable to me. In the end I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the rest of the series and not just for the fact that it will finally bring the thing to an end but because the thing is interesting again.
