Why did Moridin reveal that balefire prevents transmigration? Shishka Send a noteboard - 01/02/2010 03:41:30 PM
In the scene in TGS where Rand met Moridin while dreaming, Moridin rather casually told Rand that the DO couldn't resurrect Chosen who had been balefired.

Why do you think he did that?

1) Was it a spur-of-the-moment comment, that he regretted making afterwards?

2) Was it a deliberate revelation, calculated to encourage Rand to balefire the Chosen? If so, why? Does he want the Chosen (permanently) whittled away further, or does he think that Rand wielding BF will destablize the Pattern more, making it that much easier for the DO to break free? Both? Some other reason?

3) Was it a spur-of-the-moment comment, but he truly doesn't care if Rand acts on the information or not? If so, why doesn't he care? Are the Chosen (including Moridin himself) no longer critical to the DO's plans? Is Moridin's nihilism so ... complete that he truly doesn't care if Rand were to destroy him with bafefire at this point, or does he, for some legitimate reason, feel immune to that possible fate (at least for the time being)?

4) Some other reason?
Rise and fall, turn the Wheel,
'cause all life is
is really just a circle.

Moridin probably just wanted the access key to prevent the Cleansing - 02/02/2010 10:26:11 AM 7272 Views
no reason to take the tool that allowed Rand to Cleanse saidin? - 02/02/2010 01:34:59 PM 861 Views
We don't even know if SH knew about the access key in the box - 02/02/2010 02:09:32 PM 787 Views
So the DO's Hand doesn't know about the AK? And we have a quote with Elza's orders where? - 02/02/2010 02:14:58 PM 810 Views
If Elza had the order to take the access key, she would have taken it - 02/02/2010 02:29:08 PM 804 Views
As I've said a million times... I'm on the fence with this theory - 02/02/2010 03:52:31 PM 1281 Views
Again: there wasn't a Forsaken near the opened box. *NM* - 02/02/2010 04:22:32 PM 775 Views

He might not know about the access key in the box or have other priorities. *NM* - 02/02/2010 07:20:36 PM 739 Views
Elza certainly knows what it is - 05/02/2010 06:40:46 PM 779 Views
