I'm sure no one will agree, but Semi and Graendal being Balefired was a direct result of this revelation.

I feel that Moridin engineered both those events (with Graendal), so that Rand would severely destabilize the Pattern while attempting (and sometimes succeeding) to kill the Forsaken.
