How can a series that starts off so amateurishly written end so emotionally? I feel physically different from reading it. Guy Gavriel Kay!

I agree, it started so poorly. It felt more like fan fiction than a respected fantasy trilogy. But good goddamn, did he ever take that to incredible places by the end.
