It even makes me second guess my original thoughts on books when I have discovered them before the hype starts (that does not mean by second thoughts always land on negative, but I become more critical).

Sorry, couldn't resist!

Harkaway was only one person (me) talking enthusiastically about a book. I don't think of it as hype until it is a concerted effort, usually by a company, and certainly something which comes from several directions at once.
