That was really good foreshawdowing and I really liked how in the end the reason for the similar wands was more than just Harry being the Prophicied nemesis for Voldemort. It was the connection that was created between them when the curse failed that cause the similarities between the two. Like the wands and the parseltongue. It just added a lot more signifgance to it.
