No. If he did, that would undermine Dumbledore entirely as a good guy.

I know. But Dumbledore apparently took away James's cloak only days before his death, so he either knew of their location, or of their existence (which seems a damned stupid spell, so I'm pretty sure it isn't even possible). Who told him? Or, did James meet him outside Godric's Hollow?


Or did James give it via someone else who had been given the Secret. Or, send it in the post. Both of which explains away the whole problem. No need creating one where one doesn't exist.
