Cockatiel of Doom Send a noteboard - 04/08/2010 11:59:45 PM
As I'm going through this book again (and I will go along with the crowd and say that this is definitely one of my favorites in the series), I can't help thinking of the comparisons to the movie more than I did with the previous two books. I don't think I've seen it any more times, but I am utterly in love with Cleolinda's 15 minute version of the movie script (linked below).
I've read that particular piece of writing so many times that it is inextricably linked in my mind with the book, so when I come across a scene in the book that's been translated for the screen and then parodied in the script (confusing enough?) I find I start to giggle.
First of all, the description of Buckbeak as "horsybird" is awesome and makes me want one. Quite badly.
But when I got to the scene where Snape is taking over Lupin's class, all I could think of was this line:
SNAPE [shouting after them]: WEREWOLVES WEREWOLVES WEREWOLVES!
Which is probably funnier if you read the entire thing.
My point is, I love this book. But I may love Cleolinda's script even more.
