His books are entertaining, but his prose and his themes are not very deep. He has been hyped as some superb writer when he is average at best. The Da Vinci Code did so well because people who don't normally read, read it. Those same people now think Brown is an AWESOME WRITER, and most people who can tell the difference between Walt Whitman and Amy Winehouse know better and and try to dissuade such a false belief.
You might not like Jordan and Martin because the plot thread weren't completed, but they both did something 1 BILLION times better than Brown. They both created a world and drew you into it with their prose. Brown doesn't have that knack of drawing you into the world.
