I am constructing a course on Dickens, and so started wondering what I could expect people to have read. I would therefore be very happy if you could reply even if you haven't read anything.

Have you read any Dickens?

Yes

What have you read?

Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, A Tale of 2 Cities

I think that is all

Have you heard of any (other) Dickens novels?

Yes

Why have you not read them?

Because there is not enough time in the world to read every classic novel and keep up with modern ones (which must be just as important unless you intend to disregard all new literature) and these three gave me a taste of Dickens that made me happy to read more of his work but did not engage me so thoroughly ad to make it necessary

What is your perception of Dickens?

He is a great story teller who uses some innovative descriptions that sum up small packets of life in an easily accessible way but he sometimes overdoes it

Have you seen any film/series versions of Dickens' novels?
a Christmas Carol in various assortments. David Copperfield. Nicholas Nickleby. Oliver twist (Inc the musical)

Pick one word that you connect with Dickens. What is it?
london
And the answer came to her instantly: pride. Oh, you hear them say it's a sin; you hear them say it goes before a fall. the shepherd prides himself on keeping the wolf out from the flock. We pride ourselves on making a good history of our lives, a good story to be told.
