I am constructing a course on Dickens, and so started wondering what I could expect people to have read. I would therefore be very happy if you could reply even if you haven't read anything.

Why have you not read them?


Because there is not enough time in the world to read every classic novel and keep up with modern ones (which must be just as important unless you intend to disregard all new literature) and these three gave me a taste of Dickens that made me happy to read more of his work but did not engage me so thoroughly ad to make it necessary

What is your perception of Dickens?


He is a great story teller who uses some innovative descriptions that sum up small packets of life in an easily accessible way but he sometimes overdoes it

Have you seen any film/series versions of Dickens' novels?
