a note on the "Anti-Muggle Technlogy"attitude... LadyLorraine Send a noteboard - 03/08/2011 05:44:05 AM
And, if you ask me, the attitude against Muggle Technology doesn't actually stem from some vendetta against technology. It's because, in a wizard's eyes, technology is a crutch created by Muggles to compensate for their lack of magic. It's not a positive thing. The wizards have a bias against NON-WIZARDS, and that is the root of it. Using Muggle Technlogy is something a Squib has to do! A wizard doesn't NEED all that silly muggle nonsense!

It really has very little to do with technology at all. The Wizarding World (the portion that we're exposed to, remember that too! We only see a few regions represented!) is conservative and resistant to change, and also has little regard for anything "Muggle-like".

Which is kind of a pity. Can you imagine what a powerful wizard would accomplish with a high level physics degree and a strong grasp of more-than-basic mathematics? :P
