I try to stop at chapter endings. This is especially true when switching books. A chapter ending should be a logical break in the narrative. But when reading and just putting the book down, it can be mid sentence. When the light turns green you have to put the book down and drive. Standing in line at a fast food joint, it would be rude to hold up the one minute sign to finish the chapter before giving your order.
See, this is why I don't drive or eat fast food. When walking, you can cross the road while reading, and sitting down at a café, you don't have to put your book away when the coffee arrives

For the most part. Not always, but then it usually ends up with me divorcing the first book. *NM*
