Some games are, of course, useful. Games that help researchers solve complicated issues, games that help to plot out potential consequences of real actions taken by companies, etc. Some games help Alzheimer's patients and pre-Alzheimer's people try to retain memory. Games such as crossword puzzles help exercise certain parts of the brain.
I'm not talking about games in general. I'm talking about the standard video games that the people at this site are playing. World of Warcraft, Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto XXIII, Call of Duty 12, etc. They're as useful and beneficial as eating a bucket full of McNuggets.
