Only read a couple of new releases this year. Stephen Send a noteboard - 20/12/2011 12:13:20 AM
Those being aDwD, the Wise Man's Fear and the Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht. ADwD was dependable, WMF was epic and the Tiger's Wife was very good, probably the best book I read all year.

In terms of classics, The Great Gatsby was suprisingly slight but still enjoyable. Having limited knowledge of the book prior to reading it- just vaguely knowing the plot, and knowing its status as one of The Great American Novels I was expecting something more tome-like. In the end it was a fun, zippy read but not quite what I thought it would be.

Most interesting was probably Kafka On the Shore by Murakami.

Most dissapointing/bad was definitely When We Were Orphans by Ishiguro.
