The theme of this evening's discussion is whether there's any book that all fantasy enthusiasts agree is good. Current contenders are GGK's The Fionavar Tapestry and Feist's Magician. Do you think these are in the running? Can you suggest anything else?

I'm not all that big on Kay's stories and I have no intention to ever read any of Feist's works. I'm more of a weird fiction reader than anything associated with epic fantasy these days. *shrugs*

Of course, the same can be said for a Tolkien, a Martin, a Miéville, a Gaiman, a Le Guin, a Hopkinson, a Caitlín Kiernan, etc. There are no monolithic reading preferences anywhere.
