I think you meant wotmania's Other Fantasy board used to care. Almost all the ones who were in the Erikson Reading Cult™ are either active at Westeros, their own blogs, or just aren't around anymore, so it's hard to generate passion around here these days, I think. In addition, it's like what Dan said, there is an answer within the text for the specific cause of outrage.
As for Orb Sceptre Throne, I thought it was a mediocre novel that inspired mehness but no outrage. Incidentally, I did receive the Tor hardcover edition of Erikson's non-Malazan novellas, The Devil Delivered and Other Tales in the mail this morning (it goes on sale June 19th), so I will likely be reading that soon.
