You need to apply the same standard to books that you do to professional Wrestling(get well King) and vice versa.
There is a place for the over analysis of prose you love to indulge in, but that place is mainly within the walls of acedamia. In the real world, a good book is one that people enjoy; the Drizzt books qualify.

In the real world, a book can be entertaining or enjoyable and still be bad. The notion that a book has to be good because people enjoy it is almost as silly as a book being good because it sells well.
Now, I am a fan of Bob's. The Drizzt books introduced me to fantasy and really got me back into reading. Hell, I'm even a moderator on his official forums. But there is no denying that his books are poorly written. They are enjoyable. They are entertaining. They aren't very good. Seems like most of the people who argue that they are tend to be the ones who haven't really read anything other than tie-ins.
Considering that I readily admit that I enjoy kitsch and that pro wrestling is certainly that, I would have to say that my standards don't really change when shifting from pro wrestling to book reviewing

As I said in a comment below, it seems that many struggle to divorce what they enjoy from what is considered to be "good."
Of course, the link below contains a header image that might make some here froth
