They're among the best fantasy series out there, yes. Legolas Send a noteboard - 25/12/2012 07:02:39 PM
Just got a big Barnes and Noble gift certificate, and looking to try some new things. I've heard good things about Malazan. Any thoughts?

However, the first book has acquired a reputation for being notoriously hard to get through; tons of people have given up not once but a number of times on trying to finish Gardens of the Moon. Some of those still managed to become fans of the series, either by persevering (like yours truly) or by skipping GotM entirely and starting with the more accessible second book before returning to the first.

So if that happens to you, it's quite normal, and it doesn't mean you won't like the series. Now, if you reach the end of the second book and you're still not convinced, then it might be time to give up.

What makes it so good, your opinion? Also, does it have a satisfying conclusion? *NM* - 26/12/2012 10:50:53 PM 329 Views

I think it's just indicative of general misogyny in the fantasy readerbase, myself. *spoilers* - 30/12/2012 09:51:08 AM 841 Views
