That said, people are quick to judge Frodo as "whiny" as well (mostly from the movies, though I know a few who disliked him in the book), so maybe the typical fantasy readerbase just lacks empathy?


Also, Felisin was one of my favorite characters, and I found her death one of the most, if not the most, tragic events in the series. I wouldn't want her as a housemate, but I pitied her and mourned her life.
