Just adding my bit here... vandevere Send a noteboard - 29/12/2012 04:42:21 AM
Just got a big Barnes and Noble gift certificate, and looking to try some new things. I've heard good things about Malazan. Any thoughts?

The books are great. The main plot is subtly done, and as so many others have said, you have to do a lot of working it out yourself; and I love that.

Most Scifi and fantasy these days treat the reader like he/she is a mere toddler, incapable of understanding plots more complicated than "See Spot run, run Spot run..."

I love it when books make me figure stuff out on my own...

If the human brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn't understand it.

What makes it so good, your opinion? Also, does it have a satisfying conclusion? *NM* - 26/12/2012 10:50:53 PM 327 Views

The complaints about Felisin have always had me shaking my head - 29/12/2012 02:38:03 AM 819 Views

I think it's just indicative of general misogyny in the fantasy readerbase, myself. *spoilers* - 30/12/2012 09:51:08 AM 836 Views
