interesting to me that no women have posted liking this book.

i hated it and couldn't get past halfway through the first book because i didn't care about any of the storylines as none of them were long enough to be interesting, and if you did get marginally intrigued, it would end abruptly which was just frustrating and in no way feeling like a form of artifice, nor was it suspenseful because i barely cared so it almost didn't matter what happened next because it was a fragment of story anyway. i forgot how much that pissed me off. apparently it really did. sorry for the rant.

Yeah, that book is problematic on many fronts, yet it turns out that was by design (to some extent). Not that this explains why there's a seemingly greater-than-usual imbalance between male and female readers of this series.
