And honestly, I'm happy enough with my Wehr and a Dutch-Arabic one that I got in return for some translation work, I don't read Classic Arabic enough to make it worthwhile to get the fancy stuff (particularly since iirc somebody actually put Lane's entire dictionary on the internet, copyright expired and all that). But yes, that does sound pretty sweet... the Russians obviously did a massive amount of scholarship on Islam and on Arabic at the time of their expansion into those regions and afterwards, but it's all kind of cut off from western Arabism and Islamic studies, due to the language barrier - few people in Europe or the US who are familiar with both Russian and Arabic. Shame.

As for the languages, that's a relief. How good is your Arabic, anyway?
