Since 50 and a half seems to be quite a popular number this year, here are mine.

1. El Camino de Dagas by R. Jordan
2. El Corazón del Invierno by R. Jordan
- Last year, I decided that I would practice Spanish by rereading some books that I'd read in other languages, and since I could get my hands on it, it turned out to be the Spanish translation of The Wheel of Time. Then I couldn't force myself to read more then the first couple of chapters of Crossroads of Twilight, and all my plans for practicing Spanish went more or less out the window.
Then I decided to reread The Witcher books by Sapkowski. (I read them in Czech)
3. Zaklína?: Poslední p?ání
4. Zaklína?: V??ný ohe?
5. Zaklína?: Me? osudu
6. Krev elf?
7. ?as opovržení
8. K?est ohn?m
9. V?ž vlaštovky
10. Paní jezera
After that, I read Narrenturm trilogy, also by Sapkowski, and also in Czech.
11. Narrenturm
12. Boží bojovníci
13. Lux perpetua
In English:
14. So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish by Douglas Adams
15. The Godfather by Mario Puzo
In Spanish:
16. El Alquimista by Paolo Coelho
- probably the best book I read last year, also the last one in Spanish. I really should make it a New Year's resolution to read more books in Spanish, though I'm never good at keeping them...
Then I was finishing my thesis, and studying for the final and state exams, and I needed something lighter, so I picked up The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.
17. Fool Moon
18. Grave Peril
19. Summer Knight
20. Death Masks
21. Blood Rites
22. Dead Beat
23. Proven Guilty
24. White Night
25. Small Favor
26. Turn Coat
Then I decided to continue reading Butcher, this time his Codex Alera.
27. Furies of Calderon
28. Academ's Fury
29. Cursor's Fury
30. Captain's Fury
31. Princep's Fury
- these, especially the first and the fifth one turned out to be the weakest reads this year, along with one or two others.
Having passed the exams, I wanted to read something at least a bit heavier, and I picked up The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe.
32. The Shadow of the Torturer
33. The Claw of the Conciliator
34. The Sword of the Lictor
35. The Citadel of the Autarch
Then I read some history books by Miloš Hubá?ek, in Czech.
36. Pacifik v plamenech
37. Vít?zství v Pacifiku
38. Ofenzíva v Pacifiku
39. Boj o Filipíny
40. Válka kon?í v Pacifiku I.
41. Válka kon?í v Pacifiku II.
In English:
42. Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett
43. The Gathering Storm by Sanderson/Jordan
44. Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson
45. Dragon Prince by Melanie Rawn
46. Dead until Dark by Charlaine Harris
47. Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris
- these, especially the second one, belong among my weakest reads of this year.
48. First Lord's Fury by Jim Butcher
49. The Dying Earth by Jack Vance
50. The Urth of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe
50 and a 1/2. Válka s Mloky (The War with the Newts) by Karel ?apek (In Czech)
2. El Corazón del Invierno by R. Jordan

What did you think of Three Men on a Boat? One of the more underrated comedies out there, IMO. *NM*

Of course. It's the 50-book challenge, not the 50-SciFi-or-Fantasy-book challenge.

I would never have considered case books "books" for purposes of the 50-book challenge.

It's a textbook, not a case book.

I think even books we called textbooks were essentially case books.
