I seriously doubt mutual intelligibility would be possible between a Cajun and a Parisian.


I don't know much about Cajun French, but I can easily believe that it would be tricky. Of course, a Parisian might have some trouble with a Quebecois farmer, too... not the other way around, though. But then, the Cajuns only have their dialect and use English in more formal contexts (right?), whereas the Quebecois may speak tricky dialects, but use standard French (okay, standard French with that fantastic Quebecois accent) in other contexts.
